We adored being able to stay within the neighborhoods of the local people, all the hussle and bussle was energetically inspiring. Fallas spring festival is 1st several weeks of March, many ppl take time off to celebrate it, lots of fireworks everywhere all the time. I have to give huge big love to the housekeeper Raquel because she waited and waited and waited so patiently for us as our travels were not as exact as I had predicted. 1st time in Europe, I was unfamiliar with how long travel actually takes with taxis and trains, and I was unfamiliar how to call international #s, (i learned "whats app" is good for free international communication). Also big misunderstanding on my part, The address on the booking page was just an approximate address, so make sure to check your messages often so you don't end up waiting a long time at wrong place. I was given the correct address but I had not checked recent emails. Take note this is not a self check in apartment (i had not realized this), so make sure to have accurate plans and times to communicate to Pilar and Raquel so she can let you in and give proper tour with instructions. Raquel didn't eat for hours because of me. I still feel aweful but hopefully I made up for it with the tip I left on the table. We walked to the apartment from the train station 10min, not bad, make sure you have luggage with 4 wheels. 20min walk to the central market we visited 4 times in 1 day bc food and experience so amazing. On way we passed the awe-inspiring historical grand architecture in Ajuntament. 30min walk to El Carmen for dancing. Renting bikes for $10/24 hours was a fantastic way to experience all the many different neighborhoods and the "Hemispheric" and beach glass hunting at Playa de Pindo south of the marinaq. Try lemon cervasa if you can find it!! I would stay here again in a heart beat. Thank you Pilar and Raquel!! Your apartment was very chill, lots of endearing character, the beds were comfortable, and showers were graciously hot after all the long walks we did.
